Wrapping up the 2008-2009 year

Quite a few people that may see this blog might think I have some kind of obsession with sports reporting. Actually I just enjoy sports and I have free time to express what I want and feel about athletics; especially Colfax athletics.

In wrapping up the year I came up with a clever way of finding out who came up with the best sports programs this year. I had my rankings done in about 15 minutes, and points were given out based on how well a team placed that year. Points varied from 35 for a first place finish and 5 for a 7th place finish. Overall our athletic program scored 2nd and came very close to knocking off Lind-Ritzville. Our girls took 1st, and our boys took 3rd. Complete list below:

Overall:
1. Lind-Ritzville
2. Colfax
3. Northwest Christian
4. Davenport
5. Reardan
6. Liberty
7. Valley Chrisitan

Girls:
1. Colfax
2. Lind-Ritzville
3. Davenport
4. Northwest Christian
5. Liberty
6. Reardan
7. Valley Christian

Boys:
1. Lind-Ritzville
2. Northwest Christian
3. Colfax
4. Reardan
5. Davenport
6. Liberty
7. Valley Christian

Our records vs. all of the teams in our league was very satisfying for both the girls and boys teams. Even though we may have let some games slip away, in all of our major sports we competed very well.

Records:

Reardan...9-3
Davenport...13-2
Lind-Ritzville...10-3
Northwest Christian...8-2
Liberty...13-1
Valley Christian...5-0

Total Record: 58-11

Our athletic programs also fared well, placing these places in league competition:

Volleyball: 1st place -- 30-3 -- Won 5th State Title
